By accessing or using Heyyo (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Use (the "Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Heyyo. If you are under 18, you represent that you have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

3. The Service

Heyyo is a lightweight social service centered around short, ephemeral status messages shared between mutually connected users. Heyyo does not provide feeds, public broadcasting, recommendations, engagement metrics, or algorithmic amplification. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time, with or without notice.

4. Accounts

  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your account information up to date.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. User Content

  • You retain ownership of the content you post ("User Content").
  • By posting content on Heyyo, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, display, and transmit that content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.
  • Status messages are ephemeral by design. Temporary storage, backups, and technical logs may exist.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Heyyo to:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse others.
  • Post unlawful, defamatory, or harmful content.
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent affiliation.
  • Attempt to access accounts, systems, or data you do not own.
  • Circumvent blocks, restrictions, or technical safeguards.

Blocking is a core safety feature. Attempts to evade blocks may result in account termination.

7. Privacy

Your use of Heyyo is governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and store information. We do not sell user data and do not use engagement-based algorithms.

8. Termination

  • You may stop using Heyyo at any time.
  • We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if continued operation of your account poses risk to the Service or other users.
  • Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.

9. Disclaimers

Heyyo is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties regarding uptime, availability, or error-free operation. We are not responsible for user content or interactions between users.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Heyyo shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Virginia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
